Biography
Jussara Tanesi, PhD., FACI has about 20 years of experience in concrete research and is currently with SES Group and Associates, as a contracted project manager to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center in McLean VA. She became an ACI fellow in 2014 and received the ACI young professional achievement award in 2008. She is a member of ACI 211 – proportioning concrete mixtures, ACI 231 – properties of concrete at early ages, ACI 236 – material science of concrete, ACI 238 – workability of concrete, ACI 238-0A student workability competition, ACI 241 – nanotechnology of concrete and ACI 325 – concrete pavements, the National Capital Chapter, former chair of ACI 236C – computational materials science, and former director of the National Capital chapter. She is also a member of the American Society for testing and Material (ASTM) C01 - member-at-large of committee on cement, a chair of ASTM C01.22 subcommittee on workability and former member-at-large of ASTM C09 – committee on concrete and concrete aggregates, member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) AFN30 - Durability of Concrete and AFH50 Portland Cement Concrete Pavement Construction and a member of the International Society for Concrete Pavements (ISCP) .
