Biography
DrSc Stefan Radev is a Professor in Fluid Mechanics in the Institute of Mechanics of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He was awarded the PhD degree from the Saint Petersburg State University in 1972 and the Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation) degree from the Institute of Mechanics in 1986. His main fields of interests are in Fluid Mechanics, Applied Mathematics and the Theory of Hydrodynamic Instability. In the latter field he is author and co-author of numerous papers on the flow and instability of liquid capillary jets, compound jets, and fibers. Since many years he was teaching in the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University. He is co-author of several books in Fluid and Analytical Mechanics. Since 2004 he is a corresponding member of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Since 2009 he is a President of Bulgarian National Committee of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and a Member of the General Assembly of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.
